Tom has been a familiar face at our Health Club and Aquatic facilities for many years. Throughout his time with us, he has worked his way through our Squad Program and has now settled into a consistent routine with our regular SwimFit crew.
New Year’s Health and Fitness Goals
Tom’s New Year fitness goals are both ambitious and inspiring. He’s currently training to run a half marathon in 1 hour and 45 minutes, while also setting his sights on completing an Ironman 70.3. A true test of endurance, commitment, and resilience.
How Being Active Supports His Wellbeing
Staying active has played a huge role in supporting Tom’s overall wellbeing. Regular exercise has helped boost his confidence and strengthen his self-image, both physically and mentally. For Tom, movement isn’t just about performance, it’s about feeling strong, capable, and balanced.
Positive Changes He’s Noticed
By maintaining consistent exercise habits and positive fitness routines, Tom has experienced:
– Improved endurance
– Faster recovery
– Increased day to day energy levels
These changes have helped him stay motivated and focused as he continues working toward his goals.
Advice for Others Starting Fresh This New Year
Tom’s advice is simple and encouraging: “Start small, stay consistent, and choose one of the many sports available that’s genuinely you”. He also encourages anyone new to fitness to step outside their comfort zone and seek support “Don’t be afraid to consider joining fitness groups who can support you, such as SwimFit or Group Fitness Classes”.
This message of consistency and support is echoed by our new Health Club Manager, Dean, who is excited to work with members throughout the New Year to help everyone reach their fitness goals as we move toward 2026.

Dean encourages members to take it one goal at a time, focus on building technique before adding weight, and challenge themselves to try one new fitness activity each month, whether that is a new exercise style or a group fitness class. He also reminds everyone to celebrate both small and big victories and to track workouts and progress along the way.
For Dean personally, his New Year’s resolution is to prioritise quality sleep to improve recovery and support better performance in training. If you see him around the centre, feel free to say hello and share your New Year’s resolution with him.
Looking Ahead
With dedication, consistency, and a strong support network, Tom is well on his way to achieving his goals. His journey is a great reminder that progress takes time and that every session counts.
Tom hopes to see you around the centre soon!
