Lane Cove Council is collecting funds to transport more than 1 million litres of water from our 50m outdoor pool to drought-stricken areas in NSW. Lane Cove Council is currently in the deep end of construction of a new outdoor pool, and as part of the site safety testing, the pool was required to be filled with water and emptied. Instead of disposing of the water down the drain, Council dived right in to arrange for the water to be accepted by organisations in Armidale NSW.
The water will be used to assist firefighters and farmers with livestock. Make a splash by donating to help Council fund the transport of the water from Lane Cove to Armidale. If all goes swimmingly, it is expected the water will be transported to Armidale in late 2019 or early 2020.
