The Aquatic Recreation Institute (ARI NSW) Industry Awards, held on Thursday, October 17th, celebrated outstanding achievements across the aquatics and recreation sector in New South Wales, and we are thrilled to announce that both Greenwich Baths and Lane Cove Aquatic Centre received prestigious awards!
Children’s Program of the Year Award – Greenwich Baths Beach Safety Program
The Beach Safety Program at Greenwich Baths won the Children’s Program of the Year Award, recognising its impact on building children’s confidence, knowledge, and skills in open water and beach safety since its launch in 2011. Running over two 6-to-8-week seasons during Spring and Summer, this program not only teaches essential water safety skills but also promotes physical health, mental well-being, and social connections in a fun, beach-based environment. Thanks to the dedication of our team and the support of local families, the program has instilled lifelong beach safety knowledge and skills in young participants, helping to create a safer community.
Innovation & Technology Award – Lane Cove Aquatic Centre’s Lifeguard on Watch Program
Lane Cove Aquatic Centre took home the Innovation & Technology Award for its Lifeguard on Watch Program, which showcases advancements in safety and user experience through the use of cutting-edge AI technology. This innovative program assists lifeguards in monitoring pool activity, enhancing emergency response times, and improving overall supervision. The Lifeguard on Watch Program not only enhances safety but also contributes to greater employee satisfaction, reinforcing our commitment to making aquatic environments secure and enjoyable for everyone.
We extend our gratitude to our dedicated teams at Greenwich Baths and Lane Cove Aquatic Centre. Your hard work and passion have made these recognitions possible. To the families and members who continue to trust us with their safety, thank you for being a part of our journey. We’re excited to keep raising the bar and serving our community with excellence!
